The 1960s are also a decade of change in the USA. The 19-year-old Bob Dylan is swept along by this whirlwind of changes. He has long left his home Minnesota behind and is now making music in the perceived center of the world: New York City. There, in the West Village, he follows the music with his guitar and great talent. His talent quickly gets noticed. However, Dylan doesn´t think much of pigeonholing. He can´t quite identify with the folk movement and doesn´t want to be taken over by it. He wants to go his own way and gather real friends around him on his inevitable path to the top. Some see him as a maverick swimming against the musical tide, while others recognize him as a genius. In any case, 1965 seems to mark the beginning of a new era when he suddenly appears on stage with an electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival...
